A big day for our little man...

Connor's first Communion was on Sunday (07-05-27). He looked so sharp in his black tone-on-tone pinstriped suit, complete with pale grey dress shirt, silver paisley tie and even a tie clip!
Gary's dad helped Connor with his tie (it was a real tie-up one!), while Gary snapped a few photos. My dad came to our house before church, as did Connor's godparents, Lisa & Kevin with two of their boys.
It was a dreary day here, but we were all in good spirits, excited to see Connor take this next step in learning more about our faith and continuing on the right path.
He had several friends that were also receiving the Sacrement of First Communion. There were 8 children, all boys!
Luckily, we had an entire pew reserved for our family so the grandparents were able to entertain this little stinker for most of the Mass:
She did well, considering that she was up later than normally the night before and up early on Sunday - and she was past her naptime! She did, however, insist on sitting on Connor's lap for a while:Ironically, the priest who said the mass was Fr. Morrison, who left our parish a while ago and moved to the East Coast. It was Fr. Morrison who helped us to organize Aili's baptism when she was only 5 weeks old, since we were concerned with the state of Mom's health at the time and wanted her to be present. He got a big shock after Mass when I re-introduced him to the tiny tot that he has baptized. Especially in this pose:
LOL! Hopefully, this is not the job she takes to put herself through university!! :D
A few other photos, taken outside the church:
We all headed to our house for a BBQ. Of course, Connor couldn't wait to jump out of his suit, which saddens me now that I look at photos of him opening his gifts. However, at the time, he was running for the trampoline in his suit, dress socks and all, so it was probably a wise decision!
He received some beautiful, thoughtful gifts and it was so nice to sit and visit with everyone, especially Lisa & Kevin, since we have not seen them since Aili's birthday last year!! They're such good people!
I'll leave you with this, one of my favourite photos of the day... thanks to Gary! :D
