Today was my turn to bring some inspiration to the myStamp BOX blog!
Every year, I try a new recipe to give to my kids' teachers as part of their Christmas gift - nothing like homemade treats to brighten the holidays! We've made goodies such as chocolate covered pretzel rods and caramel corn, with great results, thankfully!
This year, I found this fun recipe (see below) for "Reindeer Food" - it's easy enough to have the kids help out. It's also reported to be highly addictive so I'm keeping my distance!
I recycled a product package by decorating it with patterned paper and stamped a tag to match!
To create the tag, I stamped white Super Stock using the Let It Snow stamp set and Versamark ink. After heat embossing it with clear embossing powder, I cut it into a tag shape and then sprayed glimmer mists over the embossed images. I then layered plain white printer paper over the cardstock and using an iron, on low heat, I ironed the tag until the embossing is absorbed by the printer paper, leaving the white cardstock below. You may want to use two sheets of printer paper if you actually use your iron for household chores... :)

To finish it off, I stamped the sentiment in a darker blue and embellished the tag. Quick and easy!
Reindeer Food (also known as White Trash or Blizzard Bites)
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups Cheerios
3 1/4 cups Rice Chex
1 1/2 cups small twist pretzels
3/4 cup peanut M&Ms
3/4 cup nuts
1 bag (12 0z) white chocolate chips
My substitutions: I used a combination of Rice Chex and Crispix instead of the 3 1/4 cups of Rice Chex, Smarties instead of peanut M&Ms, and cashews as my nut addition - but you can use your own mix! Just make sure to keep the proportions similar or you won't have enough chocolate to bind it all together.
Instructions:
Stir all ingredients, except white chocolate chips, together gently. Melt chocolate chips according to package directions, taking care not to scorch. Pour slowly over ingredients, mixing to coat evenly.
Cover a large baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Turn out mixture onto baking sheet and spread out evenly. Let cool for 30 minutes to an hour. Break up bigger chunks into bite-size pieces and store in air-tight containers. Enjoy!
