Supplies: Crate Paper glitter border, Making Memories journaling sheet, Jenni Bowlin mini bingo card, Happy Tape japanese masking tape, Tsukineko Versacolor ink, KaiserCraft wood flourishes, Riff Raff chipboard star, Maya Road vintage pearl trinket pin, My Yellow Bicycle embossed frame, Rusty Pickle corrogated letter, miscellaneous ribbon, twine & buttons.
I started out on this challenge by thinking that I would create tissue flowers from some of the yummy colours of tissue that I have laying around. And then I walked by a HUGE box of old patterns that I had been hoarding and the wheels began to turn!
I used a 12x12 piece of denim from the Just Cre8 August Creative Pack. I chose a pattern with lots of small pattern pieces and tore a sheet into small pieces, crumpling them as I went along. Then, using gesso (thanks to Donna Downey's class!!), I adhered the tissue to the denim, and then used my heat gun to speed the drying time. I then spritzed it all with Tim Holtz' Adirondack Colour Wash and left it to dry overnight. It turned out like a cool distressed wrinkly canvas!
I then used a brown striped Happy Tape to border the edges of the denim. I added my photo, using foam adhesive and then embellished! I couldn't find our household twine for the life of me - all I could find was RED, so I took my trusty Pinecone ink and inked a section before tying around my letter!
I'm not sure if I'm going to frame this one or put it in an album, but either way, I will add a piece of cardstock to the back for support.
