Time for a layout!

Another layout with the Scraptivity August 2006 kit. This is a blatant lift that I sketched out in my idea book, taken from a magazine's preview of their next issue... but I can't remember which one, or whose layout it was! If you know (or it's yours!), please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due. Thanks to Carolyn for the awesome Maya Road chipboard flowers - you and Deb are rocking that company!!

It's been a while since I've posted any layouts online. Partly because I've had FIVE layouts that I completed on my September weekend crop at GessTwood Ranch and had not yet photographed/scanned them. Partly because there seems to be a new mandate with some of the bigger magazines now, where your submissions have to be PREVIOUSLY UNVIEWED (as in not posted online!) layouts!

It's really putting a damper on the whole submission/publication process! I mean what fun is it, if you can't share them with anyone? However, I can see their point - in today's market, the struggle to keep a magazine new and fresh must be an enormous effort. There have been several magazines in the last year that have ceased publication: Woman's Day Scrapbooks & Keepsakes, Paper Kuts and now Scrapbook Answers has been dropped by their publisher (or so the rumour goes).

Speaking of magazines, Jackie (founding editor at Canadian Scrapbooker magazine) sent me a proof of the Winter 2006 issue on which my layout is featured!! Of COURSE, I can't share it with you yet, but it looks kewl! It still seems a bit surreal to me... :) Look for your copy on newstands everywhere Dec. 1st! (I've always wanted to say that! LOL!)

Thanks for looking!

I understand totally about not showing your LOs before publishing.. not that I've been published but a huge fun of doing these LOs is to post them online after:)
