Still here...

just not bloggin'! :(

Life has continued to rocket along at breakneck speed for us. No signs of slowing down; in fact, I suspect that it will get busier in a few weeks (hint, hint)... ;)

This past weekend, Connor finished his last class for the Sacrement of the Reconciliation, which will take place on Feb 28th. For the non-Catholic readers, it means he'll be able to go to confession! Of course, since we've had the discussion with him at the start of his lessons, explaining to him what confession entails, he's been very preoccupied with it! I wouldn't be surprised if he has started a list! :) He will begin his classes for the Sacrement of Communion after Easter.

On the same subject, we were very proud of him on Saturday. He was the only child in his group that was able to recite the Lord's Prayer and the Hail Mary from memory! Quite a feat, when you consider that he goes to a public school and that our church visits are few and far between... :( Glad to report that we've just discovered that the church has a Saturday mass at 4:30pm, which fits in great with our schedules, so we will be attending mass more frequently from now on!

After his class on Saturday, he entered a hockey skills competition. His new friend, Drew, plays both house AND travel hockey (at SEVEN!?!) so they entered together. Connor's skating skills have improved drastically since he started Power Skate this fall. He has more confidence and is enthusiastic about it this year. He did well for his level, and even earned a medal for participating! (Which he has not taken off, except to shower and sleep!)

Aili is doing well, aside from a constant runny nose. No problems with her breathing and the cough is minimal. However, she has metamorphasized into a screaming, defiant, rebellious toddler! I guess we've been lucky - she just turned 2 1/2 on the 13th... Connor hit the terrible twos at 18 months! A bit of a reprieve, but if this week is any indication of future months, I think that we've got our work cut out for us!
Thanks for checking in with us... Stay tuned for a few more hints soon!!

  2. oh I so can't wait to hear your news!!! It is killing me standing by just waiting and waiting!!!

Did they change the order of the sacraments, I thought First Communion came before Reconciliation, at least it did when I grew up. Congrats to Connor, that is a great accomplishment, not many children do know their prayers. We say them with the girls at night, so I hope they too learn them quickly.

Glad to hear Aili is much better, a little runny nose seems to be going around, as gross as it can be, it is better then the other.

Hope you have a fabulous week!!!
