Yikes!

Almost a month has gone by since I last blogged!
Well, it's certainly not for lack of anything exciting happening around here! We've had our Day of Champions for soccer, my sister and brother-in-law's 25th wedding anniversary party, the September kit reveal on Just Cre8, Connor's busy week away at his grandparents and Aili's birthday parties (yes, plural!).
And yes, I have photos from them all (except Connor's week away - although I'm sure my inlaws took photos!) I've been remiss in my posting of photos and I think I've figured out why...
I've noticed, and may have mentioned before, that the photos that have been taken lately have been very grainy and dark. I think that the image sensor on my camera has bought the farm and I'm not happy at all with the quality of the photos that I've taken lately.

I haven't sent it away yet for several of reasons:

1) I can't really be without my camera for more than a week or so. I need it to photograph new kits each month and products sometimes, plus our family life needs to be documented!

2) I'm a wee bit afraid of what they may tell me. As much as I'd like to get a new camera right now, it's not really in our budget. Not when there are French tutors, swimming fees and a new ensuite shower that are in our near future!

3) Even without reason 1 and 2, I really haven't had any time to get it boxed up and ready to send back! :(

Having said that, I have been fortunate enough to work with Nikon for my last article and the rep was so sweet when I typed, half-jokingly, about her loaning me another camera if I need to send mine in. She said to simply contact her when I was ready, as she facilitates the Nikon's Media Purchase Program!! I don't know what's cooler - that she's going to help me out, or that I qualify for the Media Purchase Program! :)

But I do have photos to share and I will slowly make my way through them over the next few weeks and post. Connor heads back to school next Tuesday, on the 2nd, and this year, Aili will begin Junior Kindergarten! She will go to school Mondays, Wednesdays and alternate Fridays. So while they're at school, I will be home working on my tan! No, no, no... I mean I'll be working on Just Cre8 stuff, scrapbooking, planning and prepping meals, getting to the gym... It will be nice to have time to do things that will benefit not only my family, but me too!

But for now, I will leave you with this one photo that I found while searching for a fall photo for the October kit sneak peek. It's amazing what changes 3 years can bring:

Thanks for reading!

  1. I know what you mean about not wanting to be without your camera! It's just not something that feels right!
But great score on the media thing! That's perfect!
