And here's my layout, based on the sketch (click on image to view larger):
Supplies used: Bazzill cardstock; Super Stock; Bo Bunny patterned paper; Spellbinders Nestabilities (Hexagons); Unity Stamps (Chicken Wire Background); Just Cre8 acrylic stamps (Gears To You, TailG8); Versamark and Ranger Distress inks; Ranger Glossy Accents; McGill punch; Scenic Route alpha stickers; PaperMate Flair pen; Scrapbook Adhesives foam adhesives; watercolours.
This is a rare two pager for me! However, since our July 2012 Inspiration Elevator challenge by Audrey Yeager, I have been thinking about doing more! It's funny that this one is so similar to my July one, especially since I've had these photos printed (in 2"x6" size) for about a year now! :)
Here are some of the details:
The highlighted words in the journaling was what I always refer to as a "happy accident"! I wrote "excepted" instead of "excited!" *groan* So I decided to add key words written on patterned paper - and I love the end result!
Journaling reads: It didn't take you long to grasp the concept of two-wheeling, Connor! Just a few times up and down the street and you mastered it! You were so proud and excited - and so were we!
The title is a mix of stamped letters and image (fussy cut and covered in Glossy Accents) and "vintage" (read: old) Scenic Route letters that I found in my stash - you know the mark of a good product when you still love them, years later! I'm not embarassed to use old product - if I love it enough, I keep it and (eventually) use it!
{sigh} Anyone else miss Scenic Route?
The hexagons were cut from various Bo Bunny papers (again, "vintage" but favourite). You can barely see the chicken wire stamp behind it, but OH. MY. HECK. People, I LOVE this stamp!! So subtle and adds just enough texture to be interesting!
And there you have it! Now head over to the Sketchy gallery and get inspired to create your own layout! You can use it as a two page, or convert it to a single page sketch - the choice is yours!
{RAK ALERT!}
If you play along with the sketch this month, upload your layout in the gallery into the November Sketch section here, and then link up on this post to your layout in the gallery, using Linky Tools below, by November 30, 2012.
Not only do you have a chance to be published in an upcoming issue*, but on Dec 1st, 2012, I will randomly draw a winner from the comments here of those who participated for a copy of the NEW Winter 2013 issue!
