Leave Your Legacy: 2011.01.14 - I Am...

The Leave Your Legacy challenges started a few years ago, at Just Cre8.  The idea came to me, when in rifling through some old photos of my parents, I realized that I could name most of the people, places and events in the photos, but didn't really know much about my parents:  their hopes, their dreams, their personalities - although from some of my dad's stories, I gathered he was a little imp!

Once I decided to stop creating the Just Cre8 kits and we reduced the website to just an online store, I discovered that I wasn't creating many pages about me.  How were my kids going to understand who I was, as a young child; a blossoming teen; a grown woman; a mom?

So in order to motivate me to create more pages about me - and to encourage you, in the process - I've decided to post bi-weekly challenges here, featuring a prompt.  Nothing like having you all hold me accountable to keep this up, right? ;)

And to encourage you even more, I will draw a winner from all participants each month to receive a little prize from me!

So welcome to our first challenge!

Last week, while organizing some old files on my computer, I came across a layout I had done for a circle journal, back in 2005.  The topic was "I am...".  I realized that while the journaling held alot of information of who I was, I didn't have a similar layout for my OWN album.

The challenge this week is simple:

Create a layout that describes you at this very moment in your life.

Here's my example:

Supplies used:  Bazzill Basics cardstock; Crate Paper patterned paper; Gel-a-tins stamps; Embossing Powder Candy Store embossing powder; Versamark ink; Martha Stewart Crafts border and butterfly punches; EK Success flower and fern punches; Prima flowers; American Crafts and Making Memories brads; unknown trim

Journaling reads:

I AM:
Susan Grace Sykes, but you can call me Sue.  I am 43 years old, but hardly ever act my age.  I am the youngest of three daughters, yet the least naive.  I am very opinionated, but am willing to see the other side.  I love a clean house, but hate to clean.  I am a list maker, but I am very spontaneous.  I hate violence, but love action movies.  I love meeting new people, but still have long term friendships.  I love having a tan, but moan about wrinkles.  I'm very analytical, but creative at the same time.  I love order, but make such a mess when I'm creating.  I'm a sports car nut, stuck in a mini-van.  I love jewelry, but hardly wear any - except my wedding rings.  I am a huge flirt, but hate the thought of adultery.  I am the biggest contradiction you will ever meet.  I am...
ME
