Sketchy Saturday
This week, I was given the chance to create with a great sketch by Tara Thynne. You can view the sketch here in the WeScrap forum.
And here's my version:
Supplies used: Bazzill Basic cardstock; Basic Grey patterned paper; Fiskars & Martha Stewart Crafts border punches; Crafter's workshop template (for brad placement); Doodlebug Designs alpha stickers; Versapen; Ranger embossing powder; American Crafts and Doodlebug Designs brads; Uniball Signo white pen; Glossy Accents; McCall pattern tissue; feathers, ribbon, heart brad (unknown).
I made the white flower from wide sheer organza ribbon that I had in my stash, based on this video by Arlene (mybutterflykisses12). I loved the look of the centre beads she used but didn't have any in my stash so I compromised with a large brad. I think I may go back and add some bling to it!
The kraft coloured flower is made from circles, handcut from pattern tissue. I stacked them all, attached a brad to the center and snipped around the edge to the centre, then ruffled it a bit. Thanks, to my friend, Jen, who gave me the idea on our scrapbooking weekend in November! You can see her flowers here on her blog in her layout titled "Namesake".
Again, I wanted to mix up the stickers for the title but didn't have stamps that worked, so I wrote the title with my Versapen, and embossed with fine embossing powder. I then fussy cut and adhered with Glossy Accents.
This makes my NINTH layout since starting to scrapbook this year (Jan 7th)!! I think my new scrapbook studio is inspiring me! The problem is that I haven't stopped long enough to clean and finish sorting it so I don't have any photos to share yet! I have two more design team commitments and my Leave Your Legacy layout to finish and then I'm done for a few weeks. I'll tidy it up and then will FINALLY have some photos to share! :) TFL!
